Do you love mixing high end designer items with affordable fashion? I love a designer piece, like a handbag, or a shoe. But for reasons, I can’t purchase my entire outfit in designer. I wish! However, I do love matching my designer accessory pieces with affordable pieces. And I’m going to share how I do that in these 4 looks today. There are many ways to interpret a brand and its aesthetic. So even though these are how I style these brand outfits, I have seen others create amazing outfits with their own creativity and interpretation.
It’s so fun to share my personal style to high low fashion mixing, and I encourage everyone to play with your own personal touches and the pieces you have in your closet! Tag me on Instagram @withlovelilyrose if you are inspired to create a look, I’d love to see.
Color blocks for a Gucci outfit
When I think of Gucci, I think of color and pattern matching. The 3 Gucci colors are mustard yellow, forest green and burned red. If you have these colors in your closet, definitely play with them. But I don’t, so I’m going to go off the palette and use other fun and bright colors instead. You can make the outfit as bright, or as neutral as you want. The key is chunks of colors that stand out. So I used a bright pink turtleneck sweater (exact one here, similar here), mixed with a pleated stripe skirt (similar).
I completed the look with Gucci pieces that show off the logo like my Gucci leather belt, Gucci Marmont bag, and Gucci Marmont wedges. If you notice here, I also used my double G earrings (these are < $25 on Etsy), and my bee headband $12 from Etsy with the bee being a Gucci symbol.
Floral and tweed for a Chanel outfit mixing high low fashion Cha
Nothing says Chanel more than a tweed jacket with an interlocking CC brooch on it. I used this $10 tweed jacket I got on Clearance from H&M years ago (here a similar black one under $40), and put my Chanel pearl brooch on it. Paired over a pink flowy floral maxi dress from Free People to add a feminine touch to this look.
I completed the look with a pink Chanel boy bag, and a pair of Chanel inspired hoop earrings (similar on Etsy).
Lacey floral dress and white pearls for a Dior outfit
Dior could be as feminine or as edgy as you make it. And you know me, I would go the feminine route almost all the time. When I think of the feminine Dior aesthetic, I’m reminded of embroidered “toile the jouy Dior motif”. Since I don’t have any item like that from my closet, I use a lace floral dress in navy color (exact one here, under $90). I know, lace and embroidery are totally two different things, but I do think the beautiful texture of lace will do the trick! And the low V-cut, the tiered ruffles and the maxi length add the perfect amount of drama for a Dior aesthetic.
For jewelries, Dior offers amazing pearl and gold pieces. So to complete the Dior look, I’m using some pearl stud earrings, a pearl headband $8 from Amazon, and my classic nude Dior J’adior Slingback Pumps (similar option under $100 here). And lastly, to add even more drama to the look, I’m wearing these oversized cat eye sunglasses from Quay (under $60).
Mixed media and neutral outfit for Louis Vuitton
Louis Vuitton’s signature print is a classic and timeless neutral design. So to style this look, I chose to go neutral. I wanted to use this mixed media sweater dress because the white cotton details add freshness to this look. I find that’s appropriate since we are approaching the end of winter, and hoping for spring.
I’m completing this look on the casual side with a pair of Golden Goose sneakers (similar option under $50), gold hoop earrings (Louis Vuitton has a similar version). And my Louis Vuitton vanity PM bag, what a cutie!
