Remember when I announced I would not wear jeans or pants again for a while? Okay well the period of “a while” is coming to a close. I’m getting a bit more confident in jeans now as I’m shedding some of the baby weight (why thank you so much breastfeeding!). And also wearing skirts and dresses gets in the way of being a mom at times. Especially now I bend over more often picking up things my baby kick off her stroller, or putting the car seat in and out of the stroller. I don’t want to flash the world. So I’m going back to the easy comfortable combination of jeans and a top on some days.
For my first blogged look with jeans, I’m pairing some distressed denim with a cute peplum lace top for an easy run errand look. I love these jeans from Express because they’re high waisted. I’m all about high waisted nowadays, still trying to hold in that tummy a little bit. I love the distress and the vintage wash color. Plus these jeans are fitting but not skinny, perfect to transition me into the life of wearing pants again. For a feminine touch, I paired them with this lace cut out top. This top has the right amount of bell sleeves, not too much to get in the way of everything, but enough to be cute and girly. The neckline is another favorite part of mine, a refreshing look after all the cold months of wearing turtlenecks and sweaters.
To finish the look, I’m wearing this new bag from Marc Jacobs with the stripe guitar strap. I really love this new trend of guitar strap instead of a regular hardware strap. It adds so much personality to your normally ordinary look and gives it a cool vibe. This bag comes in sooo many colors (11 from the link I linked here at the time of writing). And it’s serious self control that I haven’t gotten a second or third color bag. I just adore it! I’m not sure if my little sister would agree with me, but this bag makes this outfit a “cool mom” outfit, even though I’m not much of a cool mom.
If you’re a mama, what is your go to outfit for an errand running or grocery shopping kinda day? Do you have an accessory that instantly adds a cool vibe to your look, what is it?
