I feel like it’s been forever since I last posted an outfit post. After Lucy’s arrival, I basically went on a 6 week hiatus. Then I started posting regularly on Instagram (by the way, if you’re not following me, you maybe missing out on the cute baby update and mom outfits). I haven’t had a blog post up until this one.
If you saw my preggo styling post on how not to look like you’ve gained 50 lbs from pregnancy, you’d know I gained 50 lbs from pregnancy more or less. My little “mom pouch” is still here, and it’s 9 weeks postpartum. The weight I gained is mostly in my thighs and bottom, but of course everywhere else too. If right now you’re thinking I look great and I’m just being dramatic, that is because you’re a very sweet person and I thank you so much. But my digital scale doesn’t lie, I’ve only lost half of the amount I gained. And also, I never show you the ugly 850 photos Dylan took of me that don’t make the cut for Instagram.
I also have decided somewhere between “I can’t pull up my pre-pregnancy jeans” and “even if I can pull them up, my thighs look like they’ll burst out of the fabric” that I no longer want to be seen in pants. No jeans, no leggings. Maybe leggings but only when I go running. Again, follow me on Instagram and you’ll see my most recent outfits are pant-less. Dresses and skirts all the way. A bit challenging in winter weather, but I’d rather be cold.
Anyways, since I don’t enjoy seeing myself in pants (for now), I make an effort to find all the cute dresses that could be made into a winter outfit. And how cute is this sweatshirt dress with the ruffle details. I added this faux fur vest and completed the look with a double pom hat and some bow booties.
Hope you enjoy this cute look. And you’ll see more dresses and skirts even in this winter weather. Because like I said, I cannot even see myself in the mirror with pants.

I honestly do think you look great! But I get it, people say that about my weight gain from treatments. You look incredible Lily and you can pull off anything. Plus, wearing skirts and dresses are so much more fun. I totally would if Chicago was warm all year haha!

Having read this I thought it was very informative. I appreciate you spending some time and effort to put this article together. I once again find myself personally spending a significant amount of time both reading and posting comments. But so what, it was still worth it!
