Yes, I have a “dressing room” at home, which is basically a spare bedroom turned into where I get … dressed. It includes a vanity desk, a clothing rack, a wall cabinet that I use to display my shoes and purses, and a floor length mirror.
This room has a lot of potential to be super amazing and Instagramable. I liked it fine for try-on sessions and mirror selfies. But thought it could look a little better. So I decided to dress up the “dressing room” a little bit. See below for some BEFORE photos.
So I decided to add this wallpaper to make this an accent wall. The wall is background for my clothing rack, vanity desk and drawers. Applying the wallpaper was super easy. Here are some PROGRESS photos:
And now, TADA! After I added a wallpaper, re-arranged a few things. This room looks so much better now. I know it’s a little too Valentine’s Day themed right now, because we are in the month of LOVE. But the little decor items can be switched out easily. Let’s look at some AFTER photos below.
It’s amazing what an accent wall could do to a room. And the total cost for the wallpaper (plus a squeeze gee applicator) was about $85. The wallpaper was on sale for about $25/roll and I needed 3 rolls. So in summary, this is what I needed:.
- Cost: ~$85.
- Time: half a day.
- Humans needed: 1 woman.
I’m amazed at how this wallpaper turned out. I maybe a little too obsessed and may start wallpapering the rest of the house now (just you watch and see). It’s so so easy and I didn’t need help from another person. Obviously, if you have help from someone else, it would be easier. But I did this by myself without any trouble. If you’re thinking of transforming your room, I highly recommend adding an accent wall with some fun pattern.
Quick tip for beginners: I quickly noticed I luckily picked a pattern that is more forgiving. Meaning it doesn’t matter much how I align the next strip of wallpaper. Other patterns may require more precise alignment of the strips. So if you’re a beginner, pick an easier pattern to start!

So what did you think of the newly added accent wall to my dressing room? Would you consider adding wallpaper to your space? Let me know in the comments below! I would love to see your room too if you transformed your space with wallpaper.
