Hello lovelies! Today’s post is going to be a little bit different. I won’t be showing you an outfit or styling tips, but I’ll give you a review on this set of hair extensions I recently got from Irresistible Me. Yes, the secret is out, the pretty hair pictures you all love on my Instagram (thank you so much btw for all the love, I always greatly appreciate it) were thanks to my extensions, and this set is one of the ones I own and love! So let’s get started with the review!
My “before” hair: I do already have somewhat medium-thick and long hair. It could cover my breasts if I just wear it straight down. And I do have highlights in my hair, so I’d say the overall color is an off black with medium-light brown highlights. I have no complaints about my natural or “real” hair, the reason why I wanted extensions is because I love braiding my hair and I think it would just look so much prettier as a longer and thicker braid. Even when I wear it down, I think a little length and volume would also make a really nice difference, and you’ll see what I mean by that in just a minute! 😉
My “Irresistible Me” hair: I ordered a 22 inch 200g set in color Medium Brown (#4). This color doesn’t exactly match my off black color hair, but it adds a nice dimension to my hair since I have brown highlights. I always felt like my natural black hair was too “flat” and one dimensional, and adding layers of colors to it while still keeping the overall tone is a very natural and beautiful way to go, so I went with the medium brown choice. And I think this shade blends beautifully with the colors that I already have.
Overall, I think this is a really great starter set (the starting price is $79 – on sale $59 now – is a really great price) for anyone who is looking for length and volume. Keep on reading if you want more details!
The packaging:
It comes in a set of 10 wefts: one 4-clip weft, two 3-clip wefts, five 2-clip wefts and two 1-clip wefts. One of the 2-clip wefts is packaged separately from the rest of the nine wefts, and that is your “tester”. When you open the box, open this tester piece first, feel the quality, maybe put it against your hair to test the color and the length, and once you’re happy with it, you can break the seal of the rest of the nine wefts! I believe due to hygienic reasons if you break the seal of the whole set, you won’t be able to return or exchange, so don’t open it until you’re sure you’re going to keep the set! That’s what the “tester” piece is for.
What I love:
- 100% Remy human hair, so you can style (blow dry, straighten or curl) them like you would your natural hair. You can even die them. But just like your own hair, too much heat and coloring could damage and dry them out.
- Affordable (price starts at $79 – current sale $59).
- The clips are secure and stay in place all day long.
- Omg, I have so much hair, guys! And it’s so long and beautiful! It’s a waterfall of prettiness.
Some tips and things to note:
- It gets more expensive as you increase the length and weight, which I guess makes sense, but just be aware. I’m referring to the options to purchase on their website. The price starts at $79 (or $59 right now) at 14inch 100g set. If you want a longer and thicker set, the price will go up. The longest thickest set at 24 inch 200g is $219 (currently $164).
- The 4-clip weft throws me off a little bit. It’s really thick and bulky compared to any other weft. Make sure you wear this piece at least on the same level as the top of your ears, so you have enough hair to cover it. Don’t wear it too high, it may be showing. And if you wear it too low, you might not be able to wear the whole 4 clips around your head. This is the widest weft and is designed for the widest part of your head, but wear it low enough to have hair cover how thick and bulky it is.
- The ends seem to be thinning, which makes it difficult to blend with thicker hair (like mine). Use the tricks below.
- Tricks to blend if you’re wearing a shade different than your own hair or if your hair is not blending at all due to too much difference in length and thickness (these both cases apply to my hair):
- Wear your hair curled, or waved. Do not wear your hair straight and down.
- You could braid your hair, or put it in a pony tail. If you’re wearing a crown braid half up like me (see below), curl/wave the half down.
- Wear your extensions higher: Bring them as high as you can without exposing them. I like to think that the amount of a section of your own hair that you’re trying to blend should be the same amount in a weft you’re blending it with, more or less. So blend as much as you can with the higher of your hair first using the whole set of extensions, and whichever real hair lower that didn’t get blended, braid it into a small tight braid and pin it underneath everything to hide it away. I hope this makes some sense. I’ll do a more thorough post on this if you are interested?
Here are a couple of hairstyles that I quickly put together for this review to give you an idea. Hope you enjoy!

You have beautiful hair and these extensions look gorgeous on you. I am tempted to buy these. Quick question though – do you have to fix these in your hair daily or is it like you put it once and it stays? Also, how does it stick to the scalp?
